Lake Baccarac Trip Pricing

This beautiful lake is nestled among the forested mountain peaks. They have recently paved a major portion of the road, making access from Los Mochis much easier. The drive is currently only 2.5 hours. You may also access the lake by private plane, as the town has a 5,200 foot paved runway. The lodge is called Lake Baccarac Lodge.  This facility rivals Lake Huites Lodge in both style and comfort.  We have 18 foot Crestliners with 60 hp motors, with front and rear trolling motors and depth finders.

This impoundment, near the old gold mining town of Bacubirito, Mexico, is filled with a mother lode of double-digit bass. Baccarac's age, structure and depth are all key factors in producing its big bass. The 19-year-old lake was originally stocked with Florida-strain largemouth, which have had plenty of time to grow huge and produce trophy-size offspring as well. The warm climate allows Baccarac bass to grow year-round at an annual rate of 1 1/2 to 2 pounds.

Lake Baccarac Trophy Bass

Trophy Bass Fishing

Fed by the Sinaloa River, Baccarac's waters spread to about 35,000 acres when full and about 28,000 acres at its lowest level. The impoundment has a maximum depth of about 200 feet. Baccarac contains 76 to 96 islands — depending on the water level — and plenty of standing timber, even at its lowest level. Shoreline bushes and trees become inundated when the lake level rises. BEST LURES & TECHNIQUES — Big fish can be taken shallow throughout the year in the standing timber, especially along points, flats and bluff ends. When the lake is high, the tops of the islands become prime feeding spots for heavyweight bass. Top lures for big bass are spinnerbaits, soft stickbaits and chuggers.
