Hacienda Las Palmas Dove Hunting
The Hacienda offers world-class Mexico dove hunting from late - August through October. Whitewing Dove hunting is nothing short of spectacular. Thousand of acres of sunflower, corn and sorghum are close to the lodge. Extensive pre-hunt scouting keeps driving time to the shooting areas to a minimum. Mourning dove hunting is also available from November - mid February. The lodge has an extensive selection of shotguns. Provided in the standard package price are Benelli Montefeltro and Benelli Montefeltro M-1's and 12 and 20 gauge shotguns and some 20 gauge over and under’s.
Dove Hunting in Mexico
Favorable patterns of rain during the late spring and summer encouraged heavy grain farming and outstanding dove nesting conditions in this region. This dove hunting season promises to be one of the most productive in many years. The Mexican state of Tamaulipas holds the largest concentrations of dove in the country and hunters will shoot white winged as well as mourning dove.
Mexico Quail Hunts
Bobwhite quail hunting is offered November through February. Exceptional quail habitat is a short distance from the Hacienda. In addition to its traditional hunting areas, the Hacienda holds exclusive leases to over ten thousand acres of varied and often challenging terrain. The surrounding countryside holds some of the largest concentrations of purely wild bobwhite quail in the world. One sports writer called them, "the wildest, fastest quail he had ever seen."
Hacienda Las Palmas conducts traditional walk-up quail hunts behind pointers on fence rows, tree and brush lines and in grain fields. Our dog handlers are American with extensive experience in hunting quail in Mexico. We prefer to match three hunters with each handler and will not exceed four hunters per handler. You also have the option of duck hunting one morning of your trip, if conditions allow. Everything is first-class at Hacienda Las Palmas- custom made hunting vehicles, American dog handlers and pointers.
The Hacienda also offers quality Duck hunts on Lake Guerrero. Species available are Pintails, Widgeons, Mottled Ducks, Gadwalls, Green Wing Teal, Blue Wing Teal, Cinnamon Teal, Black Bellied Tree Ducks and Bluebills. The game is abundant and the limits are liberal. We hunt out of custom made blinds that can be moved at a moments notice to the place where the ducks are harboring. Our master Waterfowler, Mike Settles, will make your duck hunt a memorable experience.
