Negro Lodge" opened in October of 1998 and offers peacock
bass anglers the finest in land based accommodations in the heart of Brazil's world record
peacock bass fishing. The lodge is located 60 river miles upriver from Barcelos on the
southern bank of the famous Rio Negro River. |

The
fully air-conditioned lodge, built with native woods, slate floors and a thatched roof, is
surrounded by windows overlooking the Rio Negro and the Brazilian Rain Forest. The lodge
consists of a 5,000 square foot main lodge for relaxing and dining, and eighteen private
cabanas sleeping two anglers each in queen beds, with private baths and walk-in closets
for comfort and privacy. |

The
lodge is equipped with a state-of-the-art satellite phone
communication system for seamless contact with the outside world.
Guests may purchase prepaid satellite calling cards at the lodge
and can leave the lodge phone number for home or business use. Beware
however that the calls can be expensive. |

on paths winding through the lush rain forest grounds of the Rio
Negro Lodge, the cabins feature air conditioning, queen-sized
beds, private baths with hot water, walk-in showers, a sitting
